I loved this photo of Elvis that was taken in our state at the Charlotte airport in 1972…just gorgeous as always.

<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>
I always love to see the notations that Elvis made in his books. This one is very special also…love to see how his handwriting/printing always matches all of the notes and letters that Elvis/Jesse has written to me over our 32 years of friendship.

Elvis Presley Admits ‘Hollywood’s Image of Me Was Wrong’ in Rare Vulnerable Moment Featured in New Doc (Exclusive)
Presley, who died in 1977 at the age of 42, expressed deep frustration with his Hollywood career in recordings heard in the new Netflix documentary
- Return of the King: The Fall & Rise of Elvis Presley comes to Netflix on Wednesday
- The film explores the story behind Presley’s now-iconic 1968 comeback special, Elvis
- “This is an aging superstar with one final chance to throw a Hail Mary and prolong his dying career,” director Jason Hehir said
A new documentary about Elvis Presley reveals a rarely seen vulnerable side of the legendary singer.
Return of the King: The Fall & Rise of Elvis Presley, which premieres on Netflix on Wednesday, Nov. 13, explores the story behind Presley’s now-iconic 1968 comeback special, Elvis. The special — which aired on NBC — is widely credited with breathing new life into the star’s music career after many critics believed it to be over.
In a clip from the documentary by director Jason Hehir shared with PEOPLE ahead of the film’s release, the King of Rock and Roll — who died in 1977 at the age of 42 and starred in over 30 Hollywood movies — can be heard describing a period of immense creative and personal dissatisfaction during a string of onscreen flops.
“Hollywood’s image of me was wrong and I knew it, and I couldn’t do anything about it,” he said, adding, “I didn’t know what to do. I just felt I was obligated to things I didn’t fully believe in.”

“At a certain stage, I had no say so in it,” he said of his movie career. “I didn’t have final approval of the script, which means I couldn’t say, ‘This is not good for me,’ and so I became very discouraged.”
“They couldn’t have paid me no amount of money in the world to make me feel I had any satisfaction inside,” the icon added.
Another portion of the clip shared with PEOPLE shows Presley’s ex-wife, Priscilla Presley, viewing footage of the singer in the 1967 musical Double Trouble. She watches somberly as Elvis — a Grammy-winning musician — sings the simple children’s song “Old MacDonald Had a Farm.”
“That to me is a crime,” The Naked Gun actress, 79, says while watching the scene. “It is a crime. To put him in that situation and sing that song. It made him a laughingstock. And he knew it.”

Priscilla has opened up previously about Elvis’ desire to create meaningful work.
“Musically, I think he was pretty happy with how things had turned out,” she said in a December 2023 interview with The Times UK. “He loved knowing that his music meant something to people.”
“I remember sitting with him at Graceland listening to some of the songs he was recording,” she continued, “and I asked him why he sang so many ballads. He answered me straight away, ‘Because those songs touch the heart. Life’s truth is in those songs.’ He was right.”

Return of the King: The Fall & Rise of Elvis Presley also features interviews with Bruce Springsteen, Baz Luhrmann, Conan O’Brien and others.
“I’ve always been captivated by stories that humanize iconic figures, and Elvis may be the most iconic of all. He was a cultural lightning rod in the 1950s, but by the mid-60s he was culturally irrelevant. As a fan I’ve always wondered why he didn’t do more to satisfy his musical ambitions, and as a filmmaker I’ve always wondered how much it hurt Elvis the human to see Elvis the icon fade into obscurity,” director Hehir told PEOPLE.
“I originally pitched this film as a sports movie: this is an aging superstar with one final chance to throw a Hail Mary and prolong his dying career. If he fails, he’s finished. If he succeeds, he continues on. Not only did he succeed, he delivered one of the most indelible performances in music history. This is the story of a stunning triumph amidst overwhelming adversity.”
The film will be available for streaming on Netflix on Nov. 13.

I wanted to share this with everyone just as an enjoyable view…unlike myself, maybe there is a visitor who is able to actually look seriously at bidding on this sweet Elvis auto.
Elvis Presley’s last Cadillac for sale: 1977 Cadillac Seville
A Cadillac fit for a king is up for sale as the last car bought by Elvis – driven by him the day before he died – goes under the hammer.
The last car bought by iconic singer and prolific Hollywood actor Elvis Presley is on the market at Bonhams in the United Kingdom.
The King of Rock and Roll picked out the 1977 Cadillac Seville sedan – including the silver-over-maroon two-tone paintwork – only months before his death at age 42 on 16 August the same year.
Known to have owned more than 100 Cadillacs during his life, it’s believed the four-door sedan is both the last Cadillac and last car of any make bought by Presley, one of the best-selling recording artists of all time.
Bonhams Cars will auction the vehicle – not including the ‘ELVIS 1’ number plates shown in images – through its online website with bidding opening on 4 November.
With no reserve, the Cadillac is expected to fetch more than $US100,000 ($AU150,810) – the sum it achieved when sold in 1994 in Las Vegas – when the auction ends on 25 November 2024.
According to Classic.com the average price of a 1977 Cadillac Seville is around $US16,500 ($AU25,000) with its top recorded sale at $36,300 ($AU55,115).
Bonhams picked up the Cadillac directly from the ‘Auction at Graceland’ held in 2014 where items from Presley’s famous Graceland estate in Tennessee, United States (US), were sold off.
It is fully authenticated by the Elvis Presley Museum and includes the original ownership papers signed by Presley when he bought the car.
Bonhams published images of Presley behind the wheel of the car – the day before his death – where he could use the CB radio installed to contact the front gate and kitchen at his Graceland estate.
In addition to its colour scheme, the Seville – the most expensive non-limousine Cadillac in showrooms at the time – chosen by Elvis has custom bodywork by Detroit-based Fisher Body, which Cadillac owner General Motors (GM) operated at the time.
This saw the previous year-model Seville’s two-piece roof – with visible weld marks where it was joined together – produced as a single piece for a smoother finish on 1977 versions.
Despite the Seville being the first ‘down-sized’ Cadillac in response to more fuel-efficient models from Mercedes-Benz and BMW, there’s still a 180hp (134kW) 5.7-litre fuel-injected V8 petrol engine and a three-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
Inside, the two-spoke steering wheel includes faux-wood veneers on the dashboard and doors – where they surround chrome power window switches –alongside grey leather upholstery used on the seats.
Air-conditioning and power windows, mirrors and radio antenna are all part of the luxury spec from 1977, with the left-hand drive Seville’s odometer reading 56,998 miles (91,729km).
Following Presley’s death, his father Vernon gave the vehicle to his fiancé, Ginger Alden, before it became part of an Elvis memorabilia collection owned by Jimmy Velvet in 1982.
It was then sold to Australian-based Greg Page (also know as the original Yellow Wiggle of The Wiggles fame) in 1994 at auction in Las Vegas, where it fetched $US101,500 ($AU154,110).
A decade later it was sold for $US81,250 ($AU123,364) and shipped to the United Kingdom (UK), where it was put on display at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu in England’s south.
The expectation the Seville will sell for more than $US100,000 – more than five times the average price – is backed by previous auction results for cars owned by Elvis.
A 1969 Cadillac Fleetwood owned by Presley sold for $US230,000 ($AU350,000) – bumped up to $US253,000 ($AU384,000) once auction fees were added – by Mecum Auctions in Arizona, US, in March 2024.
That compares to an average sale price of $US23,943 ($AU36,201) on Classic.com, with the highest sale $US42,900 ($AU65,136).
The final sobering image of Presley taken before his death was at the wheel of a 1973 Stutz Blackhawk said to be one of his favourite cars.

I have really happy news today!
Jesse called us this morning and we had a very good visit. He sounded well and we had a very enjoyable chat. He didn’t impart any news to be shared but I know everyone will be happy and relieved to know that he is OK.
Hearing from Jesse sure was a wonderfully good way to start my day and weekend after a very difficult week for us. A very close friend is ill and we have had to be away from home most days this week taking her to doctor visits and helping her at home. Asking your prayers for her and us, please.
I ask for everyone’s patience as I am not having too much time to spend on the website during this difficult time with our friend.

As I explained above, we have had to be away from home much of each day with our friend in the hospital. I have been on the computer very little last week and this week. Therefore, I failed to post on this website about the Christmas Lighting Ceremony at Graceland. I even missed watching the ceremony.
However, the event is still available to view at the below link.
2024 Graceland Holiday Lighting Ceremony

Our friend had to be hospitalized this past Monday after we took her to the doctor. It has been a very hard week for us all. There is no end in sight so I expect to have to be absent from this website in the coming days also. Please do keep my friend, Tom and myself in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
I send each of my visitors love, light, and peace always.

It has been years since we saw this movie so the details are a little vague in my tired old mind. But, I remember thinking that it was a cute movie. If you have not seen it, I think you will find it entertaining.
The Weirdest Performance Of A Beloved 90s Icon Is Now Streaming For Free

Bruce Campbell is genre royalty and has appeared in many films, but he is still best known to movie lovers for the Evil Dead franchise. If you’re like us, you find Campbell’s performances more addictive than a sugary soda from S-Mart and are always on the hunt for more movies featuring his handsome, slightly rubbery face. If you’re ready to hail to the king, here’s some good news: you can now stream Bubba Ho-Tep, Campbell’s weirdest movie, completely for free on Tubi.
What the heck is Bubba Ho-Tep about? Bruce Campbell plays an elderly man in a nursing home who claims to be the very much alive Elvis Presley. He teams up with Jack (played by Ossie Davis), a man claiming to be President John F. Kennedy, healed after the assassination attempt and transformed into a Black man. Together, they must stop a resurrected and rampaging Egyptian mummy, one whom Campbell’s character playfully nicknames “Bubba Ho-Tep.”

Now, if you felt like you were having a stroke while reading that description, here’s a fair warning: that’s pretty much what it feels like to watch it from beginning to end. The film begins with a crazy premise of a long-dead celeb and president teaming up to stop a different kind of evil dead. As a genre fan, I loved how this movie was weirder from the beginning than most movies ever get, and it got delightfully weirder with each scene.
If you’re a very literary nerd, then the name Bubba Ho-Tep may sound familiar. That’s because it’s based on a novella of the same name written by Joe R. Lansdale. The film is relatively faithful in its adaptation, so if you enjoyed the novella, you’ll likely dig the movie (and vice versa). It’s a solid story made that much better by the inclusion of Bruce Campbell, playing against type as an elderly rockstar despite being only 44 years old when the movie came out.

Speaking of Bubba Ho-Tep’s great story, it won the Bram Stoker Award for Best Screenplay, a very prestigious horror award. That’s because the movie goes deeper than Bruce Campbell fighting the evil dead. It also addresses what it means to grow old and irrelevant and the lengths that people will go to in order to feel like they still matter. It’s a poignant meditation on age and aging, albeit in the form of an utterly deranged horror comedy.
Bubba Ho-Tep wasn’t exactly a box office darling, earning only $1.2 million against a budget of $1 million. That was because it was mostly shown via film festivals rather than a traditional worldwide debut. Despite that very limited distribution, it didn’t take long for the movie to win over critics and audiences alike.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Bubba Ho-Tep has a critical score of 78 percent and an audience score of 79 percent. Critics generally praised how the movie effortlessly combines bizarre and over-the-top comedy with sad and wistful nostalgia for lost youth and better days. You get the best of both worlds with this film: it’s a Bruce Campbell screwball horror comedy that might just make you tear up when you least expect it.
Will Bubba Ho-Tep make you laugh, cry, or maybe a bit of both? You won’t know until you stream it for free on Tubi. Afterward, you may never look at Bruce Campbell the same way, and you’ll be able to one-up all the so-called history experts in your orbit by reminding them that Elvis and JFK didn’t die decades ago and instead lived long enough to save the world from an evil mummy.
