I WANT TO SHARE WITH EVERYONE THAT JESSE CALLED LAST NIGHT AND HE WAS OK. WE DID NOT HAVE A LONG CONVERSATION AS HE WANTED TO ASK HOW I AM DOING WITH TWO BROKEN ARMS. HE IS DISAPPOINTED, AS AM I, THAT I HAVE HAD THE SECOND INJURY BECAUSE I WAS BEGINNING TO DO BETTER FROM THE FIRST ONE.
HIS CALL WAS A WONDERFUL BLESSING TO ME AS ALWAYS.

JUST WANT TO SHARE SOME GOOD NEWS WITH EVERYONE TODAY. JESSE CALLED THIS AFTERNOON. HE CALLED WHILE WE WERE OUT TAKING OUR GOOD FRIEND FOR A DOCTOR’S VISIT. HE LEFT A MESSAGE ON OUR ANSWERING MACHINE. HE SPOKE FOR A GOOD BIT AND SEEMED TO BE FEELING WELL. HE IS GETTING SOME SUPPLIES TOGETHER TO GO ON A PICNIC. I AM SO GLAD TO HEAR THAT HE IS GETTING TO GET OUT FOR A FUN EVENT.
I SURE DO HATE THAT I MISSED HIS CALL, BUT IT STILL MADE ME SO HAPPY TO HEAR HIS MESSAGE AND TO HEAR HIS GOOD NEWS. HIS CALL WAS A BLESSING TO ME AS ALWAYS.
I’LL ADD A LITTLE UPDATE ON MYSELF ALSO. I HAVE REALLY BEEN SUFFERING A LOT OF REALLY BAD PAIN FROM MY 2ND BROKEN ARM. THIS ONE HAS BEEN EVEN MORE PAINFUL THAN THE FIRST ARM. WHEN THE SECOND BREAK OCCURRED, I HAD TO MISS SOME OF MY PHYSICAL THERAPY VISITS PLUS DISCONTINUE THE HOME THERAPY, SO MY FIRST ARM HAS A WAYS TO GO STILL. THERAPY ON THE SECOND ARM HAS NOT EVEN STARTED YET. I WILL RETURN TO THE ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON FOR FOLLOW-UP X-RAYS ON THE 19TH TO DETERMINE IF HEALING IS TAKING PLACE AS EXPECTED ON THE SECOND ARM BEFORE THERAPY CAN BEGIN.
BECAUSE OF THE RESTRICTIONS ON MY ACTIVITIES, I DEVELOPED SEVERE SWELLING IN MY FEET AND LEGS WHICH HAS BEEN FRIGHTENING BECAUSE OF THE EFFECT THIS HAS HAD ON MY MOBILITY. I HAVE BEEN SEEING MY PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR FOR THIS CONDITION.
ALL IN ALL, THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE WORST PAIN CONDITIONS I’VE EXPERIENCED AND HAS TAKEN A GREAT TOLL UPON ME…PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, AND EMOTIONALLY.
I AM NOW NOT ON THE COMPUTER MUCH AT ALL. I CAN ONLY TYPE WITH ONE FINGER ON MY LEFT HAND WHICH IS STILL NOT HEALED. SO ANY WORK I DO IS TEDIOUS, SLOW, AND TIRING. BUT I WILL BE BACK ON MY SITE EACH TIME I HEAR FROM JESSE TO POST UPDATES. I ALSO AM UNABLE TO CORRESPOND.

I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating this special day in Jesse’s life. This was the 45th anniversary of day one of his new life as Jesse…his birthday. His goal on that day in 1977 was to give Jesse 42 years of life as Elvis had.
I am so thankful that he reached his goal and continues to be here with us.
Most of all, I am most thankful that I have been so richly blessed to have known him for 30 of those years.
My most wonderful and precious brother.

I have wonderful news to share. While I was working on the above post this afternoon, Jesse called and we had a wonderful and sweet phone visit. He and I were both feeling not-so-good today. But that did not take away from our enjoyment of speaking. Jesse was feeling fatigued and I am fatigued and in pain. As I often say “old age and bad health” ha, ha!
Jesse said that they had a really good time at the picnic and the weather was nice but hot. He had hoped to go to Memphis for one day but just did not feel like making the trip.
His call was the glorious part of Elvis Week for me.
I am still only able to type with one finger on my left hand and it takes me a long time to get anything done. So, I won’t be back on the site for a while…but I WILL be back.

Priscilla Presley reveals new facts about the enigmatic Elvis Presley, her late ex-husband
Elvis Presley’s 45th anniversary of of his death was yesterday, and Priscilla Presley revealed brand-new information about The King. The legendary Elvis beach movies were something Presley’s ex-wife revealed he did not enjoy filming during his career. She revealed on NBC’s Today his plans to make “serious films.”
Speaking from the Graceland estate, Priscilla discussed both Elvis’ lasting legacy and the recently released Baz Luhrmann movie, Elvis.
When questioned about the film’s most challenging scene, Priscilla confided her frustrations to Colonel Tom Parker, played by Tom Hanks in the movie as Elvis’ manager.

I would like to recommend a very good book about Elvis and Col. Parker to everyone…especially those who have a mistaken negative opinion of Col. Parker. I love this book which was published by EPE and includes the truth about the very special association and friendship between Elvis and the Col. with statements from Vernon Presley and Jack Soden.
I especially love the photo and Col. Parker’s poems on the back cover:
I would love to share just a bit of all the wonderful facts from this book to show the very good terms of the Presley family and staff with Col. Parker as well as the loving friendship between Elvis and Col. Parker, however, their copyright strictly prohibits all such publication from the book. This book was published in 1994 and is, of course, out of print. One may be able to find a used copy for sale on the Internet.
EPE and Graceland honored Col. Parker during the year of his 85th birthday. This included THE COLONEL PARKER TRIBUTE EXHIBIT AT GRACELAND
MARCH 1994- MARCH 1995.
Col. Parker passed away in 1997.

I came upon this video of Charlie Hodge speaking about Elvis’ health. Even though the ultimate conclusion given by Charlie is not accurate, I still liked hearing most of what Charlie had to say…he truly was a dear friend to Elvis. If only others who were blessed to be with Elvis had been as devoted and loyal.
