I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Elvis Week. Again, I must apologize for my absence here on my website. I am having massive problems with our computer and my own health, as usual. I have purchased some programs from PC Matic and am in the process of setting them up and getting them into good order to protect my computer. So, I am hoping for better luck.

Well as usual, I am buried beneath a mountain of computer problems. But I did manage to get logged in long enough to find and post the below article. I enjoyed it and I hope my visitors will also.
On July 1, 1953, less than one month after graduating from Humes High School in Memphis, Tennessee on June 3, 1953, eighteen year old Elvis Presley visited the Tennessee Employment Security Office in Memphis in search of work.
At the time, neither Elvis nor anyone else could have imagined that within a year he would record at Sun Studio and begin one of the most extraordinary careers in music history.
This photos show Elvis’ Tennessee State Employment Security Office application card, which Elvis originally completed in March 1953.
The document offers a remarkable look into the life of Elvis the young man who was still simply known as “Elvis Aron Presley, 462 Alabama Avenue.”
On the application, Elvis listed his work experience, education, and various skills while searching for employment opportunities. The card reveals a hardworking teenager preparing to enter the workforce, long before fame, fortune, and worldwide recognition would come his way.
This document reminds us that before becoming one of the most recognizable entertainers in history, Elvis was a young man from Memphis trying to find a job, help his parents, and build a future.
Just days later, on July 18, he would walk into Memphis Recording Service at Sun Studio to record “My Happiness” and “That’s When Your Heartaches Begin” for his mother Gladys. The rest, as they say, is history.

It is republished unedited in its original form. BREMERHAVEN, Germany — Singer Pvt. Elvis Presley arrived here Wednesday aboard the Randall, an all-Navy military sea transport, with 1,381 other soldiers. He was quickly processed at the dockside here and put aboard a special troop train bound for Friedberg, Germany, near Frankfurt. I have been close personal friends with the real Elvis, who is Jesse, for over 34 years, and I will swear on a Bible that Bob Joyce is not the same wonderfully sweet man that I have been speaking with all these years.

CANDLELIGHT VIGIL
The annual Candlelight Vigil is the cornerstone event for Elvis Week each year and draws thousands of fans to the gates of Graceland on the eve of Elvis Presley’s passing.
After an opening ceremony at the gates of Graceland, fans are invited to walk up the driveway to Elvis’ gravesite and back down carrying a candle in quiet remembrance. Gates remain open until all who wish to participate in the procession have done so, which typically takes until the early morning hours of August 16, the anniversary of Elvis’ passing.
This will take place at 8:30 tonight.

On this day, August 16th, I have something very interesting and exciting to share. While it may be true that a lot of people witnessed what I am about to show, there is one very important aspect of this event that I haven’t shared before.
This event took place during the 2022 Candlelight Vigil…45 years after Elvis faked his death and began his new life as his stillborn twin brother Jesse. As Jesse has explained to me personally and as he has shared in other ways in his book, etc., he wanted to give Jesse a life too.
You will see and hear what some people thought was crazy and a sign that Priscilla was developing dementia or some other problem with her memory. However, when you watch this film, you will see that she was as lucid as ever and was having a very happy time with her unusual approach to her memorial speech about Elvis for the event.
For those who have followed my website for these many years since 2009, it should make perfect sense. Priscilla was actually announcing to the world and celebrating the fact that it had been 45 years since Elvis faked his death and began his new life as “Jesse”. August 16, 2022 WAS actually JESSE’S 45th birthday!!
Now, this is the part that was so wonderful for me and that I had not posted here before. What made this so very, very, very special for me was that Jesse was so interested in this and wanted to be certain that I had seen Priscilla’s presentation and heard what she said, so he phoned me the day after it aired to ask me, “Did you hear what Priscilla said?” I excitedly said “Yes!” and went on to elaborate about how much I enjoyed hearing and seeing her speech with this wonderful surprise.
I ask that everyone please watch the video below and join in the happy celebration for Jesse’s 45th anniversary “birthday” (now 49th) of becoming a regular person who entered into a new life of freedom and opportunity in the life he wanted to live.
I was ecstatic that he called me so I could share in that happy event with him over the phone. I did not make a big issue of his calling and asking me if I saw it before…I just treasured that myself. So, I am calling my visitors’ attention to it now as something new to enjoy knowing. That it was important to Jesse that she revealed that and that I did get to see it. Something more to substantiate the truth on my website. He told me that I have more than anyone else…all because of his support and generosity, substantiating my website.
I can never express how thankful I am for being blessed to be his close friend and “Little Sis“.

THIS IS A RED LETTER DAY FOR ALL OF US!! GOOD, GOOD NEWS TO SHARE!!
Jesse did call me tonight; he sounded wonderful, and we had a good happy visit.
As you can all imagine, words cannot express how happy and relieved I was to hear his voice again after so.o.o.o.o long.
We just picked up where we were and didn’t miss a beat in our friendship. I thank God and Jesse.
Please do feel free to pass this happy and exciting news on to anyone who has been concerned about Jesse.
Jesse wrote in one of his letters to me many, many years ago that as long as he is alive, he would always call me. He reemphasized that statement to me again tonight. I worried so much over the last year that I didn’t hear from him that something had happened to him and that no one wanted to tell me. So, I finally braced myself some months ago and asked our go-between if something had happened to Jesse and no one wanted to tell me. Our go-between assured me that Jesse is still here, and that helped me to feel a lot better.
But nothing could make me feel truly better until I actually heard Jesse’s voice again tonight.
I hope this makes others feel relieved, too.
