Beautiful photo in honor of Lisa Marie’s 53rd birthday.

Lisa Marie Graceland childhood memories ‘Everything my father did was out of love”

Lisa Marie celebrates her 53rd birthday today but back then, despite all the fame and fortune, she was also just a little girl who was doted on by her father, even if their routine was bizarrely “nocturnal.”

She said: “(We would) Go to bed at four or five am and get up at two or three the next afternoon. It was always a lot of fun. There is not one bad memory. There was always a lot of energy and life in the house. He was very mischievous.”

The Elvis Presley Biopic Finally Has an Official Release DateUncredited/ASSOCIATED PRESS/Combination Photo

Following a long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, director Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis movie is officially back on track. The Warner Bros. project resumed shooting in September in Queensland, Australia and now, finally, has an official release date: June 3, 2022. Hopefully, by then we can actually sit and enjoy the film in public. But just in case, Elvis will also be made available through the at-home streaming service, HBO Max.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2021

I want to share with everyone that I heard from Jesse today.  As you will recall, today is the day that Jesse is scheduled to enter the hospital for some procedures and/or tests leading up to his surgery which is scheduled for this Thursday, February 11th.
Jesse has tried to phone us twice in the last few days, but his phone has malfunctioned and we did not get to speak.  I have been sick at heart because of not getting to have a conversation with him before he goes to the hospital.  I was home all of last week and this weekend waiting to get a call from him.
This morning, we left the house for several hours thinking that Jesse would not be home to call us.  When we returned home, we did have a message on our answering machine from him.  He sounded very good…his voice very strong.  He said that he is OK and that he will call me when he gets back home.  He said that I am the only person that he called and that no one knows where he will be.  Obviously, the whereabouts of his hospitalization would not be made known to anyone.
I am so glad that he did finally get a call through and that I have his message.  I am heartsick because of not getting to speak with him though.
I ask that everyone, please, keep Jesse in your thoughts with love and caring and in your prayers.   Some prayers requested for me too, please…nervous sister here.

Below is an excerpt from an article regarding an interview with Ann Margret.  As you will see, Elvis always sent her a floral arrangement shaped like a guitar for every one of her opening shows.  She states that she knew Elvis was dead when the flowers did not arrive for one of her shows.  The reason that this is interesting is that her show was on August 15th, 1977…which was the day BEFORE Elvis “died“.  My point is that I believe he did not send the flowers the day before he left because he wanted her to notice this and perhaps wonder later how he knew he would not be alive the next day which was the 16th.  Of course, we know that he knew because he planned to fake his death the next day.

This is similar to Elvis having written a “thank you and goodbye” letter to Wanda June Hill near the first of August, 1977 and he held it to be mailed later in the month because he wanted her to get on the day that he “died“.  Wanda received it the day before Elvis “died“.  When I spoke with Jesse about my having known that his letter to Wanda was done as a clue to her that he knew what day he would “die“, he was so glad that I recognized what he had done and said, “I didn’t think anyone noticed that!“.

She knew Elvis Presley died because of this

Elvis Presley kept in touch with Ann-Margret after their affair ended — the two remained good friends. In fact, Presley would send Ann-Margret a floral arrangement in the shape of a guitar for each one of her opening night shows in Las Vegas.

However, when Ann-Margret opened for the Hilton on August 15, 1977, she noticed that there was no floral arrangement this time. She decided to call Graceland and see if something was amiss, and she learned of Elvis’ death before the news broke.

During an interview, Charlie Rose asked Ann-Margret, “He sent flowers and you knew he was dead when the flowers didn’t arrive – he’d send you flowers whenever you had a new engagement in the shape of a guitar?”

“It was unreal. It was just unreal… because I’m real private, and he was too,” she replied.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2021

I apologize to everyone that I have not been more active here on the website this week.  As you can imagine, my thoughts have been preoccupied because of Jesse’s hospitalization and surgery.  I have also had several “snags” with my websites this week which have disturbed me and taken my time away from the website.  Somehow, just about all of the images on my page titled “GIFTS FROM JESSE TO ME AND MY HUSBAND”  disappeared from both of my websites.  I have been working on repairing these pages, which has taken a lot of my time.  I do have that page repaired on this site and will be working to repair it on my other site very soon.  This is a very time-consuming task as you can imagine…very tedious also.  Also, I will have to check if there is any damage to other pages.

My thanks to everyone for your understanding and patience as I work my way through the website problems and continue to worry about my sweet brother, Jesse.  Prayers please for us all.

ELVIS IS ALIVE as Jesse now – Twin-less twins

Linda Hood Sigmon

This show of Unsolved Mysteries details the effect that having a twin who did not survive at birth had upon Elvis. When Elvis explained to me many years ago about “being Jesse” he told me that he could always feel Jesse with him. He reinvented himself as Jesse after August 16, 1977, so that he could give Jesse a life for 42 years…the same number of years that Elvis had. Anyone who has read extensively about Elvis and his parents already knows how the loss of Jesse at birth was a big part of their lives. Elvis would slip away and talk to Jesse when he was a little boy.

I have some news directly from Jesse.  Jesse called tonight and we talked for a little while.  He is, temporarily, back home and so that is how he could phone.  He has not had his surgery yet.  He did go into the hospital on the 8th as scheduled.  They did the preliminary procedures for the surgery to be done and had gotten down to the point of doing the actual surgery when Jesse began running a fever.  Because of the fever, they had to postpone the surgery.   He will have to go back next month to have the surgery.  I did not think to ask him for the dates of his return to the hospital and the surgery.  He does not know what caused the fever and they did not tell him.  But he has not gotten sicker because of the fever.

He said that he still cannot call me as often as he has in the past, but he will call me when he can.  He asked me if I will still write to him and I said “Yes!  Every Friday.”    It is not his choice that he cannot call as often and I do understand his situation.

He sounded good except he said he was just so.o.o.o.o tired and I could hear the tiredness in his voice.  He is traveling to another state to the hospital.  So, the trip plus the 3-day ordeal of procedures would be tiring for us all.

My heart was uplifted just hearing his voice again as I am sure all of you understand.

Please do keep Jesse in your thoughts and prayers always.

I will post again when I hear from him next time.

Jesse surprised me with another phone call tonight and we spoke for just a few minutes.  He is doing alright and sounded good.  The only news I have to share from this call is that he will be returning to the hospital for the surgery in about two weeks and he will call me again before he goes.

Earnhardt & Elvis Comes to Las Vegas

The hood of the "Dale & The Duke" show car, presented on August 14, 2008 in the Fort Worth Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas

The ‘Earnhardt and Elvis’ car is the latest idea from the Motorsport Authentics and is due to be introduced to all the NASCAR & rock’n’roll fans out there at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on February 27th. MA made it possible for Elvis Presley Enterprises and Dale Earnhardt Inc. to join efforts towards fielding the ‘Earnhardt and Elvis’ car as part of the Enduring Legends Series programme.

Elvis’ portrait will be shown on the hood of the famous No 3 Chevrolet and will become the 3rd important North American figure in the Legends’ collection, following singer Johnny Cash and movie star John Wayne.

“Dale Earnhardt was instrumental in convincing NASCAR to bring the Cup Series to Las Vegas, so he has a special place in our hearts. Elvis is a Las Vegas icon and is loved by race fans and tourists around the world. We are excited to be the host for the unveiling of this unique program and promotion in the greatest entertainment destination in the world. It’s also a special treat for our Neon Garage pass holders, as well,” said Chris Powell, president of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Motorsport Authentics’ CEO Mark Dyer also expressed his hope that the new car will have even more cache that the previous projects.

“Because of the strong fan reaction and collector excitement we experienced around the Johnny Cash and John Wayne cars in 2008, we’re expecting the ‘Earnhardt & Elvis’ car to be the most popular program of the entire Enduring Legends Series. Elvis’s legacy as a great American icon makes him the perfect man to grace the hood of the famous No. 3 Chevrolet and we’re excited to make this worldwide car unveiling at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as part of its action-packed weekend of NASCAR racing,” commented Dyer.

The Enduring Racing Series is a racing programme started by Motorsport Authentics a year ago aimed at honoring the legacy of former NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt. It involves the presentation of several iconic North American figures (singers, actors or songwriters) on the hood of the No 3 Chevy throughout the Sprint Cup Series.

The first car fielded under the Enduring Legends Series collection was ‘The Man in Black’, having Johnny Cash’s portrait on the hood. Also last year, Earnhardt Inc. fielded a second MA-promoted car named the ‘Dale and The Duke’, featuring John Wayne’s image.

Below is a photo of what the Elvis portrait on the hood looked like in  2009.  Of course, this is a collectibles model car…

The song that David Bowie wrote for Elvis Presley

David Bowie and Elvis Presley’s relationship went way beyond just being two of the most popular icons in the music industry. Presley, who was often referred to as the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” was a significant cultural icon in the history of music. With his charming and energetic stage presence and with his performance style often bordering on the lines of being sexually provocative, Presley became the subject of a long list of controversies. This didn’t stop his success, though, and he soon became one of the biggest names in popular culture.

On the other hand, David Bowie had a career as colourful and varied as no other. The ‘Heroes’ singer was known for incorporating intriguing twists to his musicality and coming up with stage personas such as Ziggy Stardust, The Thin White Duke, and more. Bowie started his journey as a musician a long time after Elvis – though, at one point in time, the two were contemporaries in the music industry, too. But, largely, Bowie operated in an unusual arena when considering Elvis — he was simply a fan.

Born on the same day, January 8th, Bowie was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. So, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if we were to know that Bowie wrote a song for Presley. Since both the singers were signed up with RCA Records, its manager asked Bowie to write a song for Presley. Bowie, the Presley fan he was, was more than happy to keep the request. He wrote ‘Golden Years’ as a track for Presley to put out, but the iconic singer turned him down.

Considering he was such a huge fan of The King, we’d imagine the refusal hit the singer harder than it may have done if it was anybody else behind it. Bowie, when asked about it in an interview in 2002, said, “There was talk between our offices that I should be introduced to Elvis and maybe start working with him in a production-writer capacity. But it never came to pass. I would have loved to have worked with him. God, I would have adored it.” Presley sent a note to Bowie saying, “All the best, and have a great tour”, which Bowie kept with himself for the rest of his life.

The song in question, ‘Golden Years’, which Bowie later recorded and released on his tenth studio album Station to Station, has since become a rich part of Bowie’s own iconography. In fact, ‘Golden Years’ has gone down in history as one of the most popular David Bowie songs out there. Even though much of the backstory of the song revolved around Elvis Presley, as Bowie himself admitted, David Bowie’s then-wife Angela, had a different story to tell. She claimed that Bowie had written the song with her as the inspiration.

In a rather disappointed tone, recalling how Bowie didn’t support her enough in her career as she had done for him, she said, “I did The Mike Douglas Show, singing ‘I’ve Got A Crush on You’. And David was so astonished that he wrote ‘Golden Years’.” She also added that Bowie had apparently sung the track to her over the phone, too.

‘Golden Years’ bordered on the genres of a revised form of funk and disco and David Bowie’s performance in the song was simply magnificent. It featured him on the vocals as well as the melodica, a Moog synthesizer along with handclaps on the side. All in all, it was and still is a treat to the ears.

Blast from the past…one of my favorite Elvis/Jesse matches:

<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2021

This is an interesting article about the attempt which Bruce Springsteen once made to meet Elvis and the later tribute which he paid to Elvis on one of his album covers.

Elvis Presley: Did Bruce Springsteen Ever Meet Him?

Bruce Springsteen is an icon in the music industry. He was the lead singer of the E Street Band and has also had a solo career. In the 1970’s, he solidified his title of The Boss with the success of his album Born To Run. Let’s take a look at what The Boss thinks about the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and what Springsteen did to try to meet Elvis Presley.

When Bruce Springsteen first saw Elvis Presley on TV

Firstly, a little background. In his autobiography, Born to Run, Springsteen depicts his working-class neighbor and family on the Jersey Shore, and how he grew up with the Catholic Church, Italians, and Irish people. Springsteen further describes what it was like when “The Big Bang” occurred that rocked everything. Prior to “the big bang,” he says, “There was nothing to look forward to, nothing to look back upon, no future, no history. It was all a kid could do to make it to summer vacation.” “The Big Bang” according to Springsteen, was the appearance of Elvis Presley on The Ed Sullivan Show.

What The Boss thought of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll on television

Springsteen writes “The revolution has been televised!!” He recalls “seventy million Americans” watching Elvis who he says was “the hip-shaking human earthquake.” He writes it didn’t matter that CBS cameramen tried to keep Elvis respectable by shooting his performance from the waist up. For Springsteen, Elvis represented a cultural change and moment for the USA at that time. Springsteen says, “He was a showman, an entertainer, an imaginer of worlds, an unbelievable success, and embarrassing failure and a fount of modern actions and ideas. Ideas that would soon change the shape and future of the nation. Ideas whose time had come.”

“Burning Love”

When The Boss tried to meet The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll

Ultimate Classic Rock reports that in 1976, Elvis was still alive and Springsteen was not a big name – yet. One thing was clear – Springsteen wanted to meet “The King.” Subsequently, on April 29th of that year, he attempted to do exactly that. He and fellow E Street Band member, Steven Van Zandt, took a cab at 3AM to Graceland after they finished a performance nearby. When they saw a light on at the home, they “jumped the gated wall” and made their way to the front door.

Unfortunately for Springsteen and Van Zandt, they were stopped by security before they even had the opportunity to knock. It is reported that The Boss inquired as to whether The King was home and was told that Elvis was away in Lake Tahoe. The two performers were then escorted off of the property by security. Springsteen has shared this story at his concerts. He is reported as saying “I couldn’t imagine anyone not wanting to be Elvis Presley.” Unfortunately, Springsteen never got his wish and never met Elvis.

Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” tribute to Elvis Presley

Springsteen clearly was impacted by Elvis. In addition, The Boss paid tribute to Elvis on his Born to Run album cover which shows a button on Springsteen’s guitar strap that says “Elvis the King, King’s Court, Elvis Presley, Fan Club of N.Y.C”

Elvis Presley: Did Bruce Springsteen Ever Meet Him?

<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

My dear and longtime friend, Lucilia created the below montage from the photos comparison of Elvis and Jesse which I posted above on the 24th.  I thank her from the bottom of my heart for creating this beautiful image and for sharing it with me.

<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

I recently shared a video by The Spa Guy in which he interviewed my very good friend, Dennis Miller.  I was happy for Dennis when I saw that his story of meeting Elvis at Graceland in 1976 was picked up and published in the UK in the Express newspaper online.  I will share a bit of this article below along with a link to the full article.  The article quotes from the video which I shared earlier so I won’t copy and paste the entire article here.

I really like the side-by-side photos of Elvis and Dennis which are included in the published article.

ELVIS PRESLEY fan Dennis Miller met The King at Graceland before he died and has since walked through the mansion tour 400 times, claiming he still senses his spirit there.

A fan called Dennis Miller was lucky enough to meet The King at Graceland in 1976 after running over to him behind the gates of the mansion. Just 16-years-old at the time, Dennis asked his family to stop by Memphis during a family vacation so he could see the house where his idol lived.

Speaking with Billy Stallings Spa Guy in the video below, Dennis said how he ended up speaking to Elvis’ Uncle Vester Presley (Vernon’s brother) for about 15 minutes at the gates of Graceland.

Dennis’s parents wanted to go for lunch, but he didn’t want to because he wanted to stay there for as long as possible.

Lucky for him, Vester said it was okay for the mega fan to stay at the guard shack with him while his parents were at lunch.

Around 20 minutes later, Vester said how he had a load of fan cameras and he needed to go up to the mansion and take pictures.

Elvis’ uncle then offered Dennis the chance to jump in his jeep and go up to the front of Graceland, which the boy was more than happy to do.

The fan remembered: “As we were driving up the right side of the driveway, Elvis was coming down on the left side of the driveway and I jumped out of the jeep.

“I saw Elvis coming down on his golf cart and Vester said, ‘Where you going? Get back in here!”

Dennis replied: “Oh there’s Elvis! I’ve got to go meet him”

Vester said: “Get back in the jeep and I’ll take you over there.

So they went over to The King and Vester said: “Elvis Presley, I’d like you to introduce you to my friend Dennis.”

The King of Rock and Roll himself addressed the boy saying: “How you doing son?”

Dennis remembered fondly: “Elvis called me son and I’ll never forget it and that was my meeting with Elvis.”
