I want to explain a little about my lack of activity here on the website this past week. As I am sure everyone has seen and heard on TV, there has been a tragedy here in our state of North Carolina…hurricane Helene. Though we were spared any real damage to ourselves or our home, it has been a bit distracting and inconvenient. We were without Internet and home phone service for 3 days which disrupted our lives. I was not able to mail out our package to Jesse until Saturday morning by Tom driving it to another town. Our Post Office was closed for service for a number of days because they had no electricity.
Tom’s brother actually lives in one of the areas which was hit hard by hurricane Helene so we have been very concerned about his safety. He is OK but has no electricity and trees down. Because he lives on a mountain, his home was not damaged by flooding. Tom and another brother drove to his home to take him 30 gallons of gas because there is none to be bought in his area. He is using a gas generator for his home. I worried a lot about them making the long trip but all went well.
Anyway, we are still here and doing as well as two old folks can. I turned 78 on Friday and that was a real slap in the face. Over the hill and going down fast!

This is a beautiful little hanging-shoe ornament .
I really like this little clock from Jesse. The image of the musical notes on the bottom of the front make me think of the gates of Graceland so much.
I thank Jesse so very, very much for these two lovely and very special gifts which I will always treasure.

My dear long-time friend Dennis F. Miller sent the below copy of the press release which Jesse wrote for his book. I have shared this press release before but thought I would share it again for those who are newer visitors to my website.
As stated many times before, Jesse co-authored his book with Dr. Hinton. This press release was written by Jesse as a letter to Hinton including me in the salutation.
Because an intruder named Linda Felix-Johnson was brought into our group behind my back by Hinton and later traveled with Hinton to interviews, etc. you will see that I have underlined her initials (L J) in red farther down in the letter to distinguish her from me. I was given to understand by people who met Hinton and Felix-Johnson that Jesse’s letters showing “Linda” (meaning me) were shown to interviewers and others while allowing them to believe that it was Felix-Johnson to whom Jesse referred as “Linda” and sometimes included in the salutations. Felix-Johnson was never a part of our group until Hinton brought her in behind my back near the time that I withdrew myself from the very small group. Up until that time, only myself, my husband Tom, our go-between, and Hinton were even aware of our group of Jesse’s friends. I was “Shuma” in the book from beginning to end. There was only one “Shuma” even though I heard that Felix-Johnson allowed people to think that she was “Shuma“. I chose my own pseudonym at the beginning of the book project for a very personal reason. It was I who introduced Hinton to Jesse after many years of being a close friend with Hinton who I truly believed that Jesse and I could trust.

We all should know and understand by now how very important Numerology is and what a factor it plays in his decisions about his life. Bearing in mind that Elvis/Jesse’s number is 8 as explained by him so many times. With this in mind, take a closer look at the date on which Riley is releasing her new book about her mother, Lisa Marie.

I want to remind everyone (myself included) to watch the CBS TV special tomorrow night which will be televised in conjunction with the release of the book that Riley has co-authored with her mother’s, Lisa Marie’s, recorded tapes and written notes. I know we are all eager to read the book and also to view Riley’s interview.
As I made note of above, all of this is taking place on October 8th, 2024 (that number EIGHT day). I know that this nod to numerology is very pleasing to Jesse.
Oprah interviews Elvis’ granddaughter, Riley Keough, for CBS special, ‘The Presleys’

Oprah Winfrey will interview actress/filmmaker Riley Keough — the granddaughter of Elvis Presley — in an Oct. 8 primetime CBS special tied to the release that day of “From Here to the Great Unknown: A Memoir,” a book completed by Keough after the death of her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, network officials announced Tuesday.
Set to air at 7 p.m., Memphis time, the show is titled “An Oprah Special: The Presleys — Elvis, Lisa Marie and Riley.” Network publicists promise that Keough will engage with Winfrey in “an intimate conversation about her life, her mother Lisa Marie’s life, and her famous family.”
The special will debut four days before Keough returns to Memphis for a public conversation about her family and mother at the Soundstage at Graceland. Announced in July, the 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12 event is another part of the national promotional campaign for the highly anticipated Random House book, which has a publication date of Oct. 8. Tickets to that event are $40 each and are available at graceland.com. The ticket price includes a lithograph and a copy of the book, each signed by Keough.”

According to Graceland, Lisa Marie Presley “spent years recording countless hours of riveting, raw, and breathtakingly vulnerable tape for her memoir.
“After Lisa Marie’s passing in 2023, her daughter Riley dedicated her time to fulfilling her mother’s wish to share her words and complete her unfinished work. In ‘From Here to the Great Unknown,’ Lisa Marie and Riley’s voices join together to tell one breathtaking story.”

The only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie died on Jan. 12, 2023, at age 54.
The Oprah special will showcase “never-before-seen family photos and home videos, as well as selections of Lisa Marie’s personal audio recordings, including memories of her father,” according to CBS, while Keough “opens up to Oprah about the extreme highs, lows and pressures of being a Presley, and the deep, profound relationship she had with her mother.”

Lisa Marie Presley’s Posthumous Memoir ‘From Here to the Great Unknown’ Is Already An Amazon Best-Seller
Co-written by Riley Keough using recordings from her late mother, the book has risen to the top of the charts ahead of Oprah Winfrey’s Graceland interview special.

Just a month before her death in 2023, Lisa Marie Presley had asked her eldest daughter and Elvis‘ granddaughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir — and that book is set to release on Tuesday, Oct. 8, co-written by Riley Keough herself. The memoir has already risen to the top of on Amazon’s bestselling list as a book on Love and Loss even in its pre-order stage ahead of Oprah Winfrey‘s trip to the historic Graceland property and interview special with Keough.
Using extensive archival tapes Lisa Marie had previously recorded for the memoir, Keough “knew she had to fulfill her mother’s wish to reveal these memories, incandescent and painful, to the world,” reads the book’s description. Spanning 204 pages, From Here to the Great Unknown covers everything from the “unconditional love” she felt from her father and the times they spent together on the grounds of Graceland, to living in Los Angeles with her mother and getting kicked out of several schools, to her lifelong relationship with Danny Keough and being married to Michael Jackson.
“Few people had the opportunity to know who my mom really was, other than being Elvis’s daughter,” Keough said in a statement on the memoir. “I was lucky to have had that opportunity and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one. I’m so excited to share my mom now, at her most vulnerable and most honest, and in doing so, I do hope that readers come to love my mom as much as I did.”
“Going to his shows was my favorite thing in the world,” Lisa Marie had written in an excerpt in People. “I was so proud of him. He would take me by the hand and bring me out onstage, then get walked to wherever his place was on the stage, and I would be taken from him and brought to wherever I was going to be sitting in the audience. Usually with [Elvis’s father] Vernon.”

Elvis Presley’s profound impact on his only daughter is clear
In the opening lines of her soon-to-be-published memoir From Here to the Great Unknown, Lisa Marie Presley speaks lovingly of her father, the late Elvis Presley. Her recollections set the tone for the book.
Lisa Marie writes, “I felt my father could change the weather. He was a god to me. A chosen human being.”
These recollections were documented in hours of recordings Lisa Marie made before her unexpected death in January 2023. These recordings are the crux of the book.
In late 2022, Lisa Marie asked Riley to help her finish her memoir. But that collaboration was never meant to be, as Lisa died of cardiac arrest on Jan. 12, 2023. After Lisa Marie’s death, her daughter, Riley Keough, finished writing the material.
Riley Keough will discuss Lisa Marie’s book with Oprah Winfrey from Graceland
This sit-down will be Riley’s first in-depth interview since her mother died. She will share the writing process and stories and remembrances of her mother.
The one-hour special will also feature never-before-seen family photos, home videos, and Lisa Marie’s personal audio recordings, including memories of her father. Riley will speak on life in the Presley spotlight and share details of her relationship with Lisa Marie.
The interview takes place in Graceland’s living room, adjacent to the music room. When entering the historic home Elvis Presley called home for 20 years, the living room is to the right of the front door.
Oprah interviewed Lisa Marie many times.

The movie “This Is Elvis” has always been my favorite movie of Elvis’ life. He once told me that he did not like the Dick Clark TV movie about him. He has not mentioned any other movies about him so I can’t comment about them. However, with the title of Dick Clark’s production being “Elvis” in 1979 and with the production of “This Is Elvis” being 1981, I always like to think that he would be saying the title of the latter movie as “THIS IS ELVIS“. Since the Colonel and Joe Esposito were greatly involved in the making of the 1981 movie, I must assume that Elvis himself was able to get at least a little bit of influence put into the movie.
My kind and most generous friend, Dennis F. Miller, sent the below poster, folder, and many photos promoting “This Is Elvis“. Dennis sent this to me many years ago but I haven’t thought to share it here on our website until recently.
My favorite aspect of the filming of “THIS IS ELVIS” is that it was produced by Warner Brothers while they were in business with ORION PICTURES.
First of all I must explain that my research and conclusion about the Orion Pictures Corporation and my belief that Elvis/Jesse had a behind-the-scenes working relationship with that corporation. My belief is based upon the fact that Orion went into business not many years after Elvis retired; they put out many movies with Elvis clues in them…some of them at very significant points in time; the name Orion was the name that involved Elvis’ recordings after he retired and many other facts which I have shared over the past 30-some years.
I first began sharing my observations about Orion Pictures with Gail Brewer-Giorgio back in the late 1980’s, then continued with my own newsletter and a movie report which I published in a small way, then later on here on our website.

Orion Pictures Corporation is an American motion picture production and distribution company that produced and released films from 1978 until 1999, and was also involved in television production and syndication throughout the 1980s until the early 1990s. It was formed in 1978 as a joint venture between Warner Bros. and three former top-level executives of United Artists.

I have some very good news to share. Jesse called me on Monday night. He sounded well although he said he had a horrendous week last week. He didn’t go into details. We enjoyed speaking for a good bit which made my day for sure. He is enjoying football season as always and asked if I could get him some college sweatshirts which I will certainly do. He said that he will call me again soon. There is no joy like speaking with him.

That’s what Keith Richards uttered to one of his musical heroes, James Burton, after surprising him during the latter’s induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The Rolling Stones legend could be referring to the pair’s age generally, or the fact they’ve helped inspire countless generations of music individually.
And it was Burton’s turn for the plaudits on this occasion, with the “innovative chicken-pickin'” guitarist on the list of 2024’s inductees, who was notably Elvis Presley‘s former guitarist.
Having already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 (with longtime fan Keith Richards giving his induction speech then) it was time for another accolade.
Nobody in attendance at Nashville’s CMA Theater could believe their eyes when Richards himself stepped on stage to honour his idol.

I noticed the below copy of Jesse’s book for sale at one of the higher prices and thought I would share it. Someday, after the truth is officially told, the prices will undoubtedly go much higher. It will become a very sought-after collector’s item, I feel sure.
Hinton and I consulted together on the book until later of 2000 before it was released in 2001. I remember the afternoon when we chose the title for the book over the phone together. I suggested the title based on another book about Elvis that I really like plus the added “In His Own Words“. Hinton and I shared years of friendship before I introduced him to Jesse in 1997. I thought I could trust him to be a true friend to me and Jesse until he began betraying in 2000.

Remembering Cissy Houston
